2024 Annual Charity Golf Day Recap

On Thursday, 5 September 2024, we gathered once again at the picturesque Wolston Park Golf Course for our annual charity golf day. The day began with a cool spring breeze but quickly warmed into a sunny 25-degree afternoon with over 70 golfers competing in the 9-hole Ambrose competition.

Though the competition was friendly and fun, it was clear that everyone was eager to support a cause close to our hearts—Hummingbird House. For over a decade, we’ve partnered with this incredible organisation, Queensland’s only children’s hospice, to raise funds that provide essential support for families caring for children with life-limiting conditions.

As our Director, Lucas Hewlett, shared, "This day is about more than just golf. It's about sending a message of hope and solidarity to families facing unimaginable challenges."

The day kicked off with some light networking and a putting competition at the Club House. Players, equipped with goodie bags courtesy of generous sponsors like Clover Law, Pave Financial Solutions, and Rose Litigation Lawyers, then took to their golf carts for the 9-hole Ambrose competition. Teams quickly found their stride, with some taking a more serious approach and others simply enjoying the fun and laughter that filled the course.

Throughout the day, sponsors like Evolve Property Solutions, G J Walsh & Co and Worrells were present, helping to create an atmosphere of community and goodwill. The stunning Wolston Park Golf Course added to the experience, and by the end of the competition, everyone gathered for a well-earned refreshment break and the much-anticipated raffle.

While there was no auction this year, the standout moment came with the highly sought-after raffle prize—a 10-person Brisbane Broncos corporate box for the season opener. This, along with incredible donations like a Brisbane Lions signed guernsey and gourmet meats from Toowong Village Meats, helped us raise an impressive $14,500 for Hummingbird House. We extend a heartfelt thanks to our generous raffle donors, including Method to the Madness, B & T Advisory, Wolston Park Golf, Golf Central, and Golf 24.
